Under the Influence

Alyssa De Leon has spent all her seventeen years being perfect. The perfect daughter, the perfect student, the perfect candidate for Valedictorian. When none of the other student ambassadors in her school mentoring program wants to pair up with transfer student and foster kid, Brandi Keith, Alyssa steps in, disgusted by their judgmental attitudes.

For Brandi, this is same bull, different school, and she’s not about to let perfect little do-gooder Alyssa break through her hard-earned emotional armor. But when she realizes Alyssa isn’t like the others who lay that “unworthy foster kid” stigma on her, when she and Alyssa begin to fall for each other, everything changes for them both. And then all hell breaks loose.

According to Alyssa’s friends and family, Brandi is “not her kind” and a “bad influence.” But Alyssa knows they’re wrong. For the first time, Alyssa has to decide whether to follow everyone else’s rules and remain in her perfect bubble, or rebel and abide by the rules of her heart…because everything in her heart points to Brandi.
