內容簡介

The epistolary novel was published anonymously in 1781 in Dublin, and later attributed to Sheridan (1758837), along with two other short novels. From a prominent literary family, she is best known for Betsy Sheridan's Journal. The two women who write most of the letters that comprise the novel, reveal upper-class women's views and concerns about the turbulent political and social events and conditions in Ireland at the time. Douglas and Ross (both English Trinity College Dublin) introduce this new edition and provide end notes explaining contemporary terms and allusions. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
