Entrepreneurship in Recession

Parker (entrepreneurship, U. of Western Ontario, Canada) offers an introductory essay explaining his selection of previously published articles for this anthology. He comments that one of the principles underpinning his selection is that understanding of the causes of the business cycle is necessary for understanding the dynamics of entrepreneurship. Twenty-eight articles are arranged in three sections. The first deals with recessions, business cycles, and entrepreneurship theory. The second, with entrepreneurship evidence pertaining to the same topics; and the third, with unemployment and entrepreneurship. Selections are from such sources as American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Monetary Economics, and International Journal of Industrial Organizations, among others.
