When Vance obtains a highly valuable 18th century Rococo table from Mrs. Chamid, he thinks he has made a great deal. After all, he is an antiques dealer and always interested in making money. But a gang of robbers visits his house and Vance discovers that the table has a secret compartment containing a long lost letter by Charles Darwin, the father of evolution. To make his life even more complicated, Vance falls madly in love with Martha, the sister of the gang's leader.The letter is stolen and shortly after that Martha vanishes too. Has she died? Vance vows to find both Martha and the letter back. Assisted by Eugene, his one-eyed dog, he sets out on a quest for truth. However, if Vance wants to succeed, he will need to search far beyond this earth.
