This monograph is a collage. It weaves Bible passages together, discussing several passages of Scripture simultaneously, rather than separately. There is no table of contents per se. Many
points and arguments are repeated in several places in the text. This is done in order to address them from different perspectives and to shed the light of other Scripture upon them, thus
adding to the overall understanding of them.
Extensive quotations of Scripture are presented, some more than once, so that the Bible text is near at hand to the topic being discussed. This volume is written to the layman, not to the
theologian; however, every theologian surely ought to read it.
The scope of this book is narrow but deep. The focus is on the beast, the one whom the Scriptures call the antichrist, and his national origin.
The preface presents a brief overview of some of the major arguments that are discussed in greater detail in the body of the treatise, with abundant scriptural proofs.
The purpose of the book is to explain why a growing number of otherwise conservative evangelicals are moving away from the traditional interpretation of certain prophecies to the view that the
United States of America will likely be the nation that gives rise to the antichrist. The aim is to present some of the stronger arguments in favor of the more recent interpretation.
Taken together, the points in this manuscript make a strong case that the Rapture is not only imminent, but probably near, and concludes that the U.S. is indeed the nation that will give rise
to the antichrist. Even the illustrious Dr. John Walvoord suggested forty years ago that the U.S. will play a major role during the Tribulation, albeit in support of the nation of the beast.1
