One Man Against the Mountain: The Story of a Quest to Survive Winter Alone in the Big Horns

"One Man Against the Mountain" is a slightly fictionalized account of an outdoorsman's quest to prove that he could survive through a winter at high elevations in the Big Horn Mountains near Sheridan, Wyoming. Living in a canvas tent, relying on supplies he had brought in on horseback the previous fall, and occasional help from people who had told him he was crazy to try this quest, he not only survived but learned a lot about himself and the generosity of others.
