Women of Today: Contemporary Issues and Conflicts, 1980-Present

Building on the progress of those who have come before, women in the last two decades of the 20^th century and the first decade of the 21^st century have seen the first female justices of the Supreme Court, the first woman Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the first female in serious contention for a presidential nomination. Women of Today explores the role of the modern woman and her depiction in popular culture, and how women's roles vary across cultural boundaries.
