Sailing at Fishers

Author, historian and dedicated sailor Rousmaniere describes Fishers Island Sound from 1614 to the present, concentrating on the 75 years of the Fishers Island Yacht Club and its members' dedication to fine sailing, power boating, and especially racing. He describes the people and boats that have made the place unique, along with the heartbreaking challenges of storms and the triumphs of the racing teams. He also describes the designs that came to fruition in the boatyards, and some of the more unusual craft tied up there, including one that contained a drawing room suitable for a country house.
