This collection of thirteen interviews of writers who settled temporarily or permanently in St. Louis(MO) is representative of the distinguished literary heritage of the St. Louis area--Kate
Chopin, Eugene Field, Tennessee Williams, and T.S. Eliot--to name a few. Initially, Rankovic did most of these interviews in the 1990s; some were published in journals or newspapers. However,
this is the first time the original ten interviews have been collected into a book; interviews of three additional St. Louis writers have been added. A photo of each writer, a sample of the
writer's work, and a biographical introduction precede each interview. This collection is not exhaustive of writers in St. Louis; rather, the collection represents the diverse writing talent
and activity in St. Louis and gives voice to that talent.
