Inspector Ikmen is troubled by the discovery of a body in one of the ancient cisterns beneath Istanbul. The dead girl was a friend of his daughter's and her body is found dressed in the elaborate costume of an Ottoman princess, but Ikmen must focus on a higher-profile investigation.
