This story was originally written as a sequel to Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. However, the publisher and author would not sanction a sequel, and forbid the use of the character
names. To avoid copyright infringement and litigation, the names of the characters and parts of the story line were changed in the present version.Philosophical Note: This story explores what
might best be called "real-life intelligence" or "existential savvy". It goes beyond the basics of "pop psychology" and "emotional intelligence"... to the next level... which entails coming to
terms with life & living. These are fundamental questions and concerns which humans have wrestled with throughout all of recorded history. Confronting these issues can be rather
anxiety-provoking and disquieting, and it usually requires a relatively high level of emotional intelligence to even start the process. Ultimately, however, recognizing and resolving these
matters can be very liberating and empowering, freeing a person to function more effectively, to thrive and to prosper.
