When an eastbound freight train was halted by dynamite near Clarion City, Texas, Gregory Quist, the famous railroad detective, faced one of the most mystifying jobs of his eventful career. Two teamsters, with faked orders from one of the railroad company's top officials, had made a rendezvous with the stalled train and received twenty cases of canned preserves from the startled crew - and had been hijacked and killed on their way to town.
