Writers from all over the world have come together as one voice in Prompted, an anthology that explores the human condition via poetry, personal essays, and fiction. From internationally
published author Julie Compton (Tell No Lies, Rescuing Olivia) to first-time poet Marsha Pincus, Prompted's connective tissue lies in a deep love and respect for the craft of writing. Flavored
by a diverse core of creative talent, Prompted is edited by Alison Hicks, MFA, who has been prompting writers in the Greater Philadelphia Wordshop Studio (GPWS) since its genesis in 1996. Hicks
has published two books: a novella (Love: A Story of Images) and a volume of poetry (Falling Dreams). Prompted is the first GPWS anthology, inspired by 13 years of work. The Greater Philadelphia
Wordshop Studio began in October 1996 with five people who met for three hours once a week in a church in Philadelphia. The process was the same then as it is today, and the workshop still
meets in that same church. Hicks began a similar workshop in the Delaware County/Main Line in 1999.
