Ismael, an elderly retired professor and his wife, Otilia, are modestly living in the town of San Jose for the past four decades. Ismael likes to spy on your neighbor's wife, and Otilia often remonstrate, embarrassed. Until the idyllic environment of the people become stale. The disappearance of some relatives spread fear among the inhabitants of San Jos矇. One morning, after returning from a walk, Ishmael learns that some soldiers have taken their neighbors. Also have been told that his wife has been looking for him and he tries to find her in vain ... The attacks continue and, when events are precipitated and unleashing the violence, the survivors decided to flee before it's too late. But Ismael chooses to stay in the devastated town. This decision will reveal a dark and unpredictable fate.
