Although serial murders are the crimes most covered in textbooks (and the media), this volume expands the coverage to rape, arson, cyber-predators, and even a chapter on murder for human body
parts. The effects of mass media attention and fictionalization are interwoven, in part to develop a concept of model theory. The work, however, goes beyond consideration of specific crimes
with interesting case studies, covering techniques such as criminal profiling, case linkage analysis, and the formation of task forces including criminal investigators linked with other
specialties such as psychologists, anthropologists or forensic pathologists. Both of the editors are in the criminal justice department at Salem State University. Annotation 穢2011 Book News,
