Nearly every day during the past four decades, twin brothers Larry and Lee Williams have been catching the gnarliest waves despite living 2,000 miles away from any ocean. To overcome the
obstacles of being born and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the Williams boys brought their dreams and long boards to the shores of Lake Michigan. Often braving 45-degree waters and
wind-chill temperatures hovering below zero, they quickly realized the "Malibu of the Midwest's" biggest adversaries weren’t the lacking waves, but rather hypothermia and frostbite.
Customizing their wetsuits to allow them to last nearly three hours in even the iciest of waters, the Williams brothers created a surf culture where one had never been before and became
surfing celebrities known throughout the world. What began as a humble social gathering of a couple dozen friends now receives corporate sponsorship and attracts hundreds of surfers from
around the world and more than 20,000 spectators, eager to take part in what has become one of America's best beach parties. Some Like it Cold is the fascinating story of the evolution
of two brothers and the unique culture they have built.
