My Ocean

When his grandparents decide to join his uncle in the United States, 12-year-old Enrique is filled with questions--meanwhile, he's being drawn into the world of the Pioneers, the first step to becoming a young communist and a person with a future in Cuba; throughout Enrique's struggles, the ocean remains his steadfast friend as he tries to understand the choices that confront him, his family and so many other Cubans.
