Purgatory Hill

Singer/songwriter/one-man-band pat mAcdonald performs here under the name of an alter ego called Purgatory Hill. On these thirteen tracks he plays a Lowebow “Purgatory Hill Harp,” which consists of a cigar box and two poles with three guitar strings and a bass string attached. Slide guitar, banjo, and bass seem to erupt from its massive amplified sound. Add neck-rack harmonica, electrified foot stomp, and partner melaniejane (http://www.melaniejane.com) on tambourine, maracas, keyboards, and backing vocals and you have, in the words of one critic, “a sexy little freak show of a duo!”
