Fight Club

　　Every weekend, in basements and parking lots across the country, young men with good white-collar jobs and absent fathers take off their shoes and shirts and fight each other barehanded for as long as they have to. Then they go back to those jobs with blackened eyes and loosened teeth and the sense that they can handle anything. 　　Chuck Palahniuk’s wonderfully bleak and darkly funny novel was adapted into a cult film in 1999, starring Brad Pitt and Ed Norton, and directed by David Fincher.

　　Chuck Palahniuk's six novels are Diary, Lullaby, Fight Club, which was made into a film by director David Fincher, Survivor, Invisible Monsters, and Choke. He is also the author of Fugitives and Refugees, a book about Portland, Oregon, and the non-fiction collection Non-fiction. He lives in Washington State.
