Xenis describes in detail four versions of early annotation and commentary on the classical Greek play, and provides information about the principal manuscripts that represent each. After
reviewing the versions and their manuscript briefly, he sets out in detail the characteristics and affiliations of the Laurentian version, the Roman version, the a-version, and the Triclinian
