After the pregnancy from hell, Quinn "Q" Boothroyd figures motherhood should be smooth sailing.

She's in for a shock.

And baby Samuel's colic isn't the only thing on Q's mind. She and her husband, Tom, are facing some very difficult decisions in a sinking economy. Is it time to scrap their former careers as big-firm lawyers and try something new? Then a chance involvement with an eccentric small-town lawyer puts their integrity and their marriage to the supreme test.

Meanwhile, Q's younger sister, Jeanie, has arrived from England, running from boyfriend, Dave, who's coming dangerously close to popping the question.

This is a summer of sleepless nights. Ultimately, one woman will have to wake up to motherhood, the other to becoming an adult. Both have their own beds to make before they can lie in them.
