The Golden Ring

Eva, an American woman in her twenties, is thrown into the wilds of contemporary Russia when she goes off in search of her twin, Laura, who has disappeared. Befriended by an economics professor who makes ends meet as the mistress of a nouveau riche businessman, Eva follows her sister�'s trail from Moscow to Saint Petersburg, then into Russia�'s historic Golden Ring, encountering along the way Laura�'s would-be fianc�穢, a gallant mafia underling and a host of other colorful characters, each more suspicious than the last in their unconcealed attempts to either help or hinder Eva�'s quest.
