Verne Underwood (English and Humanities, Rogue Community College) offers the first printed edition of the Renaissance poem that survived for three centuries in only two manuscripts in a
difficult secretary hand. He finds it to reflect the transition from pastoral to georgic themes. Lane was a minor 17th-century poet who published little during his lifetime and whose work and
life have been largely unknown since. The edition is based on manuscript 0.2.68 at Trinity College, Cambridge; is collated with manuscript 16 B.xv at The British Library; glosses words and
