Makin' Groceries is the story of a little boy named Nicky, who during summer vacation, helps his Maw-Maw Lillian at her Cajun & Creole Caf穢. It follows them around New Orleans, as they
joyfully shop for groceries at different places around the Big Easy, like The French Market, a River-Road produce stand & a GIANT Supermarket. Makin' Groceries is an old South Louisiana
expression that the region's residents use for food shopping. The expression derives from the French faire son march穢, "to do one's market shopping," faire translating either "to do" or "to
make." The New Orleans Public Library Rebuilding Project receives a donation from the sale of this book.
