The Prints of Michael Rothenstein

Rothenstein (b. 1908) has made prints for nearly 50 years lithographs, monotypes, etchings, linocuts, woodcuts, screen prints, mixed media and is known as one of the most exciting British printmakers of the 20th century. Here is a catalog comprising 455 entries spanning the period from 1946 to 1992; each is illustrated, most with a catalog illustration alongside the entry, but there are also over 100 large reproductions, 62 in color. Along with the catalog is an introduction by the compiler which traces the influences on Rothenstein's technical and artistic development, a detailed chronology and bibliography, key statements by the artist, and accounts by printers who have assisted him.
