Claude Monet (French, 1840-1926), the master of French Impressionism, was as passionate about gardening as he was about painting. At his home in Giverny, outside Paris, he created dazzling gardens-lush landscapes that became a laboratory for his experiments with color, light, and composition. Photographer and expert gardener Elizabeth Murray helped to restore the Giverny gardens, and she returns each year to capture their ever-shifting palette of color and light. A description accompanies each of the fifty-three photographs in this calendar, as does a quotation from Monet or one of his contemporaries.
