The editors (both of Liverpool Business School, Liverpool John Moores U., UK) present the fifth volume of a series collecting key papers of the Nobel Laureates in economics since the prize's
inception in 1969. Prize winners represented in this volume are John C. Harsanyi, John F. Nash, Jr., Reinhard Selten, Robert J. Aumann, and Thomas C. Schelling. Three to six papers are included
for each, selected to show the economists' key contributions to the field in general, as opposed to just the narrow reason they won the prize and, as far as can be assessed, as deemed by the
economists themselves. Where the pioneering contributions appear in book form, a representative paper on the same topic has been selected. Introductory essays providing brief overviews of the
economists' careers are also included. The volumes have been structured such that particular themes are highlighted by the grouping of the economists in question, with the theme for this volume
being game theory. Annotation 穢2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
