The editors (both of Liverpool Business School, Liverpool John Moores U., UK) present the second volume in a series collecting key writings by Nobel laureates in economics. In choosing which
papers to include, the editors have gone beyond the specific contribution cited by the Nobel Prize citation and have been guided in significant part by the laureates' own perceptions of their
contributions to economics. This volume includes writings by Harry M. Markowitz, Merton H. Miller, William F. Sharpe, Robert C. Merton, and Myron S. Scholes, with each laureate being
represented by four to six papers apiece (the editors also provide an introductory essay for each). Although the series was conceived of having each volume group the included laureates
thematically, no specific explanation is offered of the theme guiding the selection in this particular volume. Annotation 穢2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
