match, these are everyday things in the life of a little girl named Emmy. Emmy's father is a Don Quixote obsessed aristocrat, and her mother is a spoiled, selfish Southern belle. Emmy, herself,
is a girl given to fancy, making her life even more colorful, nevertheless, there is trouble in paradise.One fateful night, when Emmy's sneaks into their library, takes all of Emmy's father's
books on knighthood off the shelves and sets them ablaze, their lives are forever changed. Emmy's mother takes the children and one of their nannies to live in the states, where they settle in
a Colorado mining town. There, Emmy must adjust to a new and different life.Abruptly, Emmy's mother returns the children and their nanny to Havana into the throws of a revolution, from which
they eventually escape. Upon their return to the states, Emmy, her siblings and nanny, are subjected to capricious and cruel treatment at the hands of Emmy's mother.When their nanny is given an
opportunity to leave, it is her freedom that will eventually play a role in saving the children. Subplots include a rooster named Don Quixote, a dog named Frito, and his own quest for freedom,
a half-breed named Dakota Sam, an old gold miner, named Max, a cruel girl named Leninka, a barber named Armando, and the apparition of a golden knight.As an unproduced screenplay, this story
