Ever since his first solo exhibit at a Melbourne gallery in 1967, Kodssatz (1943- ) has been making critically-acclaimed contributions to Australian art. Stanhope (an independent curator
formerly with the Heide Museum of Modern Art, Bulleen, near Melbourne) introduces seven essays that trace Kodssatz's artistic journey, the influences on him, and his themes in various media.
One of his sheep sculptures shown on the cover represents an amusing/disturbing icon of his art made from studies of farm life. His Pop art-influenced stained glass windows at the Centre at
Monash are also featured. The oversized volume, published in partnership with the Heide Museum, includes a Kossatz chronology. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co.
