Some 20 years ago, Roy (emeritus English, U. of South Carolina) donated his extensive collection of material relating to Scottish poet Burns (1759-96), which his family had been nurturing for
two generations, to the Thomas Cooper Library there at the university. Sudduth, who is head of the library's rare books and special collections processing and services, has compiled a catalogue
of the collection, which includes manuscripts and typescripts; printed materials, books, and sheet music by Burns; Burnsiana; arts, prints, posters, and photographs; sound, film, and video
