Damon, Pythias, and the Test of Friendship

The tyrant Dionysius allows a young boy, Damon, to be imprisoned while his condemned best friend, Pythias, goes to his parents' distant home to say good-bye, all the while expressings his doubts to Damon that Pythias will ever return.
