Culture Memory Studies: An International and Interdisciplinary Handbook

Scholars describe how the relationship between memory and society is being studied and used in their disciplines, which include history, literature, social sciences, philosophy and theology, neurosciences, and psychoanalysis. The goal of the anthology is not to report current research, but to provide a broad survey of approaches and applications. Among the topics are sites of memory and the shadow of war, memory in post-authoritarian societies, imaginary futures of the past, and the photograph as externalization and trace.
