Brilliant Strokes

Co-published with the U. of Alberta Press on the occasion of an exhibition held at the Museum in 2008-2009, this oversized catalog (11x10") presents lengthy entries by Tsang (curator, Royal Ontario Museum) for 17 of the outstanding works of Chinese painting from the Mactaggart Art Collection. The entries discuss each painter's career and the content and symbolism of the featured work, making this an excellent introduction to Chinese painting of the Ming and Qing eras.
