Synopsis The Linkage Jon and Stella started out their relationship in Hell. Both were prisoners of the Nazis during the War. Jon was a Pole and Stella a Lithuanian. The war's end not only frees
them but they find themselves in love. They soon marry, go to America, open a diner outside of Pittsburgh and should have lived happily ever after. But events conspire to send them back to
Communist Poland on a vacation. There they meet friends and old comrades and they become involved in getting Stella's best friend Helen out of Lithuania. After they are home a while their happy
life is challenged by a request for them to join an organization called the Linkage, which is dedicated to fighting Communism. Jon is reluctant but when his beloved Stella is killed in an
assassination his mind is made up. He vows revenge in blood. Against the wishes of the rest of his family he accepts the challenge and goes back to work for the Linkage. He has an accomplice,
Sohpie, who poses as his wife. The two become close and become real life lovers. Jon and Sophie work quietly in gathering information and before their year of spying is up Jon is stabbed. With
Sophie's help he recovers and the two return to America. Although Jon had vowed his vengeance would be in blood he is proud of the fact that he got his revenge without drawing blood and he and
