Wealthy German manufacturer Robert Bosch (1861-1942) saw the opening of the Struttgart hospital in 1940, the first to bear his name, but more importantly, to incorporate his vision of what a
hospital should be. He was particularly concerned with building hospitals designed carefully for their beauty, their functionality, and their promotion of the well being of patients.
