The Return of Abundance or Kwakwaka'wakw includes major painting works and sculptural installations that reveal current cultural narratives while incorporating traditional and contemporary
formats. Nicolson comments, "Each of the works in this exhibition considers the temporal relationship of contemporary Kwakwaka'wakw experience to our historical experience. The Kwakwaka'wakw
traditionally occupied a landscape that provided abundant resources enabling a sophisticated cultural practice to flourish. My works examine the complexities of cultural change and adaptation
on both the personal and communal level." Marianne Nicolson is a member of the Dzawada'enuxw Tribe of the Kwakwaka'wakw Nations. Her work has been included in exhibitions at National Museum of
the American Indian (Washington DC), Museum of Anthropology (Vancouver) and International Museum of Film and Photography (New York)
