Celia the Tiger

This beautifully illustrated series of fact and fiction titles features a baby animal from one of the world's eight major land masses. Each animal baby has to deal with a difficult fact of learning experience, whether it be the birth of a baby brother or sister (Buster), adoption and the environment (Harry), poverty (Josh), or fear and friendship (Celia). Young readers identify with the character as he or she gets into trouble and then, by being resourceful and with help from family and friends, puts things right. Each page features a picture book illustration and story, accompanied by some non-fiction text. Two spreads at the back of each book provide nonfiction information, to be absorbed in the context of the story.
