Pelican Road

On Christmas Eve in 1940, on an isolated stretch of railroad between Meridian, Mississippi, and New Orleans, two trains--one a southbound freight driven by engineer A. P. Dunn, a man with no recollection of how he got a gash on his forehead; the other a luxury passenger train, in which brakeman Artemus Kane deals with his own haunting memories--draw ever closer together.
