Niobrara Crossing

In this modern mystery, Jim Gray Sparrow Grant, a mixed blood Lakota attorney, is lured from his rich life in Denver to his hometown in the Nebraska Sand Hills, by a former lover. Sandy Williams Gibbons, now a millionaire rancher and State Senator hires him to appeal a friend's murder conviction. In his attempts to resolve the conflict, Jim finds himself imbedded in historical and spiritual parallels that haunt him and remind him of his ancestors' fight for survival. In his quest to gain an appeal for Raymond Two Bears, Jim agonizes over the eventual murder of his friend, and struggles to recapture a lost love.
