Plains Indians Portraits and Scenes: 24 Watercolors from the Joslyn Art Museum

Traveling among the tribes in the Upper Missouri area during the 1830s, Swiss artist Karl Bodmer painted spectacular landscapes and striking portraits of Native Americans. This superb collection reproduces 24 paintings from that magnificent series, including Mandan Shrine, Teton Sioux Woman, Buffalo and Elk on the Upper Missouri, and Skin Lodge of an Assiniboin Chief.
