內容簡介

A historical novel by Bill Brennan, a member of the Wisconsin Province of the Society of Jesus, about Antoine de La Valette and a Jesuit sponsored venture in the sugar trade gone bankrupt after a series of business reverses. This failure led to the suppression of Jesuits in France in the 1740s and the universal suppression of the Society by Pope Clement XIV in 1773.
