Thomas Gray’s Journal of His Visit to the Lake District in October 1769

Roberts, a retired teacher who displays intimate familiarity with both Gray and the Lake District, is responsible for this small, stand-alone edition of Gray’s journal. Roberts has added a biography of Gray and extensive commentary for each day’s entry in his journal. The journal itself is transcribed directly from the original, using the 18th-century abbreviations and spellings.
