Mortal Coil

A cross between 'The Long Goodbye' and 'Get Carter', 'The Mortal Coil' is a slice of London Noir. When Matthew Moriarty helps out a friend by working in a nightclub, he gets on the wrong side of the wrong man, local gangster Bernie Mueller. He gets a call for help, as a friend, has disappeared half-way through recording his come-back album.
