An older man who has been living his life as passively as can be—without any attempt to improve it or take charge of his own destiny—receives news that he may end up blind in a matter of
months. Stunned by this news, he decides to finally take charge and goes to the Colombian city of Jauja, where he expects to put his affairs in order and fill his mind with new images
