內容簡介

Thompson (English, St. Patrick's College) and Coghlan (librarian for Church of Ireland College of Education, both Dublin) present 17 articles and papers presented at the third annual conference of the Irish Society for the Study of Children's Literature. Contributions (mainly on works from the UK) focus on variations in the depiction of conflict, and explore such topics as: reformation and reconciliation in Marie Edgeworth's Orlandino, children's fiction from Ulster, portrayals of conflict in two Irish fantasy novels for "tween" readers, self-inflicted isolation in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, and ant stories portraying "ant-fascism." This book is distributed in the US by ISBS. Annotation 穢2007 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
