Thailand Tourism

Berger (emeritus, San Francisco State University) offers a theoretical discussion of tourism, a look at tourism in Thailand, and an exploration of Thai culture and its signs and symbols. He presents statistics on tourist spending in Thailand, describes classic and nontraditional tours, and discusses problems such as terrorism, violence, and the sex industry. He looks at images of Thailand in travel literature, and presents notes from his own Thailand travel journal. The book is illustrated with color and b&w photos.
