Restorating Architecture: The Work of Alvaro Barrera

Alvaro Barrera’s passion for architecture finds its outlet in the rescue, preservation, and restoration of old and abandoned colonial buildings, which are brought to life again by his inexhaustible talent. Found mostly the Caribbean city of Cartagena, Barrera’s work has helped to conserve the architectural heritage of the 16th and 17th centuries. He gives these buildings new uses, suitable to the modern age, but does not jeopardize the spirit of the Spanish colonial age in which they were built.
