Christopher Goodwins was prompted to write this by the worldwide response from his first attempt at some limerick verses from the New Testament. Professors and Bishops wrote to him saying how exciting they found it. Prison ministers, clergy of all denominations said the same. Children saved their money to buy them. A father wrote that it had rekindled the flame in his teenage son. Grandparents in their nineties, and young parents likewise, wrote to say how helpful the verses had been.
