Hard Time on the Bayou

Jerome Duplesis is jarred from a temporary memory loss and pulled from the streets of New Orleans in handcuffs and flashing media cameras. His life sinks further when he finds out what he is being charged with. As he finds himself struggling through the emotional and physical turmoil of jail and a looming trial, he prays for a miracle and tries to make sense out of a life suddenly spiraling out of control. From the brutal conditions of local jails to the fierce, back-breaking labor of prison gangs in the penitentiary, Jerome fights to find some balance and control as forces push him deeper into the alien world of men seething and burgeoning behind mean mortar and steel.
